그리고 이상은의 '삶은 여행'이란 노래가 있다. 이 노래는 속상한 일이 생길때마다 1시간이고 2시간이고 산책을 하며 반복해 듣는 노래가 되어 있다.

보노가 자살해버린 친구 마이클 허친스(INXS의 리드싱어)를 생각하며 만든 노래. 마이클 허친스는 항상 보노에게 자살에 대한 얘기를 많이 했다고 하는데... 친구의 자살을 막지 못한 후회보다는 자살을 생각하는 사람들에게 '있잖아요~'라고 말을 거는 것 같다. 보노스러운 차가운 격동이 느껴지는 노래.
이 노래는 U2가 오랜만에 냈던 앨범 [All That You Can't Leave Behind]에 수록되어 있다. 오랜만에 듣게 되었는데...처음 들었을 때와는 사뭇 다른 기분. 내가 나름 세파(?)에 시달리고 나서인가...보노가 느낀 감정의 가닥가닥이 보이는 것 같다.
* 마이클 허친스은 슈퍼모델 헬레나 크리스텐슨의 연인이었다. 헬레나 크리스텐슨은 노만 리더스의 전 여자친구이자 어여쁜 밍구스의 엄마. 헬레나 크리스텐슨이 허친스의 자살로 방황할 때 만난 사람이 노만 리더스인 걸로 알고 있다... (예전 어디서 본 듯은 한데 확실하게 기억은 안나요~)
